This stroke of genius launched Armand Allard on the path of fame. Hard-working, even passionate about his trade, he used to make a trip to Paris before every winter season in the company of his wife to see his clients, loaded down with suitcases full of material. He would take their measurements, and then go back to Megève to cut the garments in his workshop, with the assistance of his thirty-five trouser-makers, to prepare for the final fitting in Megève. From 1950 to 1952, major construction work was undertaken to enlarge the house: The AAllard shop was born, and ready-to-wear clothes began to be sold (pullovers, anoraks, and leather-goods). In the meantime, the family grew as their three children were born: Jean-Paul (1943), Anne-Marie (1946), and lastly Jean-Marie (1959). |

In 1962, Armand died after a long illness. Jean-Paul was 19 years old, he left for the army but this tragic blow of fate reshuffled the pack: Jean-Paul came back to the side of his mother to follow in the footsteps of his father. Unfortunately, Mme Allard fell ill for several months, and Jean Paul had to take over the reins of the house alone. His mission was not an easy one, but like his father, Jean-Paul is a perfectionist with a passion for work well-done. He took the decision to devote his energies principally to top-of-the-range ready-to-wear garments. Together with his mother, they continued to develop the collections and with the assistance of Anne-Marie, they carried out a rigorous selection of their suppliers based on the quality of their materials and the care they put into their work and finish. All the conditions needed to continue with the epic came together... |
